Mayor Thomas M. Bernabei, the Canton Parks Commission, and the Canton Tree Commission are excited to announce the 5th Annual Arbor Day Celebration to be held on April 27, 2018. In connection with the Arbor Day Celebration, the Canton Tree Commission will be sponsoring a photography contest open to all residents of Stark County. This year's theme is "Tree-Mend-Us".

The contest hopes to raise awareness of trees and their beauty in all seasons. Participants are encouraged to explore the artistry of trees and submit their photography entries to the Tree Commission. Entries will be exhibited and judged during the Arbor Day Celebration on April 27, 2018, at the Canton Garden Center, located at 1615 Stadium Park Dr., NW, Canton, OH 44718, from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM. Entries will also be featured during First Friday on May 4, 2018, at the Joseph Saxton Gallery of Photography, 520 Cleveland Ave. NW, Canton OH 44702, from 6:00 PM to 10:00 PM.

Contest details and an entry form are attached to this release. Entries must be received by mail or dropped off to the City of Canton Engineering Department - Bldg. A, located at 2436 - 30th Street NE, Canton, OH 44705, no later than 4:00 PM on Friday, April 13, 2018.

Sponsors to the event include Canton Parks and Recreation, the Canton Tree Commission, the City of Canton, and Standard Printing Company.
